There is water close enough to the heat of the earths core and molten, that causes the water to evaporate making it into a gas that is trapped under hundreds of feet below the surface. So then the gas starts to create channels and escapes through the earths thinnest crust because heat rises. Sorry didn't wana get too scientific that would take research. I'm probably partly correct.
