It depends on what you added to the methanol before you put the heated copper wire into the methanol. The heated copper wire acted as a catalyst to speed up the reaction between the methanol and the other substance. Copper itself does not react with methanol.
sodium
Cooper get oxidised to copper oxide when burned in air.
in fact yes.....methanol melt ice as we use methanol to remove the ice formed around some valves "JT valves" in industry..but i dont know how it works yet
The antibacterial compound is formed in the Schweitzer's test.
Methane is CH4 or H-CH3 Ethane is CH3-CH3 When compared to H- (in methane), the CH3- (methyl group in ethane) is more electron donating and hence ethane is more basic than methane.
copper sulfide
A compound formed by the reaction of copper and sulfur
sodium
Cooper get oxidised to copper oxide when burned in air.
This compound is the copper(II) oxide, CuO.
Copper Oxide
the element was copper and the new black compound formed was copper oxide.
Copper sulfate crystals are a compound, not an element. The compound is formed by combining copper, sulfur, and oxygen atoms.
Copper and carbonate ions form copper carbonate. In practice, copper carbonate usually contains hydroxide ions as well.
Copper chloride form ionic bond. Copper exists as cuprous and cupric. It react with chlorine and ionic bonds are formed.
when niric acid is added to copper the compound formed will be copper nitrite, gold does not change because nitric acid will not react with gold, but it react with any other materials.thish is the reason why gold does not change sathish s sathya
Copper (II) oxide or cupric oxide: CuO.Copper (I) oxide or cuprous oxide: Cu2O.
