The plates under the Earth are made of lots of types of rock(sedimentary metamorphic and igneous rock) but underneath is the Earths mantle, a liquid like mix of melted rock.
I am not that old but am taking geography, sorry if this doesn't help but good luck ;)
the crust
Crust under the oceans is called oceanic crust.
parts of the crust and upper mantle
From lithospheric interactions with the asthenosphere.
The layer on earth which contain the highest mountains and deepest oceans is the crust
The Earth's crust is thinnest under the oceans and thickest in the mountains.
the crust
The oceantic crust is (2-4mi)
The layer that is thinnest under the oceans is the crust. While it is thinnest in those underwater regions, it is the thickest in the regions where mountains are.
Earth's crust is far thicker under the continents.
