The coriolis effect is caused by Earth's?

THe Coriolios Effect occurs due to the objects motion on a rotating surface.

The deflection of air masses resulting from earths eastward rotation?

This is the Coriolis Effect. The curvature appears within the rotating reference frame, in which the motion is a straight path being viewed as a curved path. In the northern hemisphere, moving objects appear to turn to the right. In the southern hemisphere, moving objects appear to turn to the left. For a path exactly along the equator, the effect disappears.

What force causes the seafloor to spread and continents to drift?

Originally conceived as "continental drift," the theory of plate tectonics explains the motion of Earth's landmasses. However, there is still much debate as to what drives this motion. Explanations include upper mantle convection currents, forces due to gravity, and the effect of the Earth's rotation.

Describe the coriolis effect and its cause?

The Coriolis effect is an apparent deflection of moving objects when they are viewed from a rotating reference frame. In a reference frame with clockwise rotation, the deflection is to the left of the motion of the object; in one with anti-clockwise rotation, the deflection is to the right. The Coriolis effect is caused by the rotation of the earth and the inertia of the mass experiencing the effect. Newton's laws of motion govern the motion of an object in a (non accelerating) inertial frame of reference. When Newton's laws are transformed to a rotating frame of reference, the Coriolis and centrifugal forces appear. Both forces are proportional to the mass of the object. The Coriolis force is proportional to the rotation rate and the centrifugal force is proportional to its square. The Coriolis force acts in a direction perpendicular to the rotation axis and to the velocity of the body in the rotating frame and is proportional to the object's speed in the rotating frame. The centrifugal force acts outwards in the radial direction and is proportional to the distance of the body from the axis of the rotating frame. These additional forces are termed either inertial forces, fictitious forces or pseudo forces. They allow the application of simple newtonian laws to a rotating system. They are correction factors that do not exist in a true non accelerating "inertial" system. The Coriolis effect causes the large air masses in the atmosphere to rotate, the Coriolis force is quite small, and its effects generally become noticeable only for motions occurring over large distances and long periods of time, such as large-scale movement of air in the atmosphere or water in the ocean. Such motions are constrained by the 2-dimensional surface of the earth, so only the horizontal component of the Coriolis force is generally important. This force causes moving objects on the surface of the Earth to appear to veer to the right in the northern hemisphere, and to the left in the southern.Contrary to myth the rotation of water going down the drain is not influenced by the Coriolis effect (the forces are much too small at that scale).

Intertia is the tendency of any object to maintain what?

Inertia is the tendency that all objects resist a change in motion

What effect do balanced forces have on the motion of objects?

Balanced forces do not alter the motion of objects.

How do unbalanced forces effect an objects motion?

If the [group of] forces on an object is unbalanced, the object accelerates.

What is the motion of an object when the forces on an objects are balanced?

Then the effect is as if there are no forces on it at all, and it moves in a straight line with constant speed.

How do balanced forces acting on objects affect its motion?

When the forces acting on an object are balanced, they cancel each other out and the result is no change in its motion.Balanced forces have no effect on motion. Unbalanced forces cause acceleration.

Balance forces have what affect on an objects motion?

"Balanced forces" means a set of forces that add up to zero. This group of forces acting on a single object have no effect on its motion, because they add up to zero, and their effect is equivalent to zero force on the object.

What Forces that result in no changes in an objects motion?

Forces that result in no change in an object's motion balanced forces.

What are forces that result in no change in an objects motion?

Forces that result in no change in an object's motion balanced forces.

What are forces that do not cancel out or change an objects motion?

Balanced forces do not change an object's motion.

What is the study of the relationships that exist between forces and the motion of objects?

Dynamics is the study of relationships that exist between forces and the motion of objects.
