∙ 14y agoStatic electricity is a term used to describe a build up of charge on the surface of an object, which can be positive or negative. When differently charged objects meet, the charge is quickly evened out, possibly with a spark.
Electric current is the continual net movement of charge along a conductor, which is driven by a source of electromotive force. This is most commonly the motion of electrons through a metal such as copper, driven by a battery or generator.
