Yes, Water constitutes 70%.

But may you advise what you mean by the common substance on earth?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

water I'm pretty sure!

If the whole Earth is taken into consideration, iron (since it makes up most of the inner parts). If we only consider the part accessible to humankind, it would probably be nitrogen (which makes up more than 70 percent of the atmosphere).

However if you include the whole universe it would be Hydrogen because astronomers believe 90% of the universe is made of Hydrogen!!!!!!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The total water on the surface of Earth makes up 0.025% of the mass of the planet-- 25/100000ths of the stuff of Earth.

For Example If Earth were the size of a Honda Odyssey minivan the amount of water on the planet would be in a single, half-liter bottle of Poland spring in one of the van's thirteen cup holders.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not correct. Perovskite is. Water covers 70%+ of the surface, but that's it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oxygen.

Initially I thought it could be carbon, but upon further research, I have found that oxygen is the most abundant substance on earth, which exists in the atmosphere, water, and throughout earth's interior.
