High pressure regions form when cold air sinks to earth's surface, then goes across to the low pressure regions and the warm air there rises away from earth's surface creating air circulation.

I suggest you look up the kinetic theory of gasses; ought to give you a little intuitive understanding.

You can think of the air as a vast collection of randomly moving particles, as they move they collide with one another, thereby changing their velocities. Now imagine two adjacent containers connected by a tube; one container with air at higher pressure(more dense), and the other at lower pressure(not so dense).

Eventually all the random motion of the molecules will balance out thus equalising pressures.

Wind is the horizontal movement of air from an area of?

Wind occurs because air tends to move from region of higher to lower pressure.

What sudden change in air pressure causes movement?

The movement of pressure systems; highs and lows. When a low approaches, which is an area of rising air, pressures fall and when a high approaches, which is an area of sinking air, pressures rise.

What is it called when the movement of air molecules from an area of air pressure to an area of low air pressure?

Wind.

Air

What is air that moves from regions of high pressure to regions of low pressure?

Movement of air from hogh pressure area to low pressure area is called wind.

How does air pressure affect air movement?

Air pressure affects air movement because air moves from high pressure to low pressure. The air pressure pushes or will press the air around.

What does air do in a high pressure area?

A high pressure area is usually an area that is being cooled, making the air move toward the ground. It gradually moves away from the high pressure area toward a low pressure area.

What moves from a high pressure area to a low pressure area?

Air.

What is an area of high pressure where air moves aparts and sinks?

An area of high pressure where the air moves apart and sinks is an anticyclone.

Do clouds rise in the center of a low pressure or high pressure area?

Air rises in a low pressure area and sinks in a high pressure area.

How are the air masses and fronts different?

Air mass - refers to any area of high or low pressure. A front - is the point at which an area of high pressure meets an area of low pressure.
