When organisms with favorable variations live, reproduce, and pass on their favorable traits, this is called natural selection. This is also characterized by the phrase "survival of the fittest" in the evolutionary process. However, this is not always the case. Many times the survival of entire species depends upon outside influences such as a devastating meteor impact, or an earthquake, or any one of the innumerable environmental influences that determine whether an organism lives or dies. Also, one must consider the environmental influences such as droughts or storms and even temperature. Though not in all cases, the genome with its many checks and balances could be the determining factor. For instance, temperature of the outside air may trigger a genome moderation that may or may not be seen in the healthiest specimens while being retained or influenced by the very sickness or vigor of the organism involved, For example, virus survive by introducing themselves to the host and the genome may or may not be influenced into modification, an occurrence that may or may not occur normally in a pristine or hearty individual. Timing is also important. For example, undersea eruptions may deliver compounds needed for modification even though the creature or organism may never encounter such except in extreme instances. Also, as in the case of the human species, the longevity of organs such as the heart and lungs tend to erode with time, mostly by continued exertion. All organisms tend to show that with longevity organs tend to just wear out and that is all there is to it. All in all, survival of the fittest certainly gives an ecological advantage but this line of departure is somewhat misleading. One must remember that all organisms are made of the same atoms and the various factors asserting influence on these atoms is consistent between the hearty and robust and the sickly and weak.

How can variation lead to survival in the changing environment?

The survival of a species relies on at least some individuals producing offspring. The organisms best adapted to their environment are the most likely to produce offspring. These are the organisms that have favorable characteristics, enhancing their ability to survive and reproduce.Their offspring will inherit these favorable characteristics. Over several generations, individuals with favorable characteristics will become the most common. In contrast, those with less favorable characteristics will be more likely to die before they get a chance to reproduce and so will become less common. For clear: We can say that favorable characteristics are ‘selected’. Variation in a species is particularly important if environmental conditions change. Some individuals will have characteristics that are favorable, allowing the species to survive the change.

Why is it important for organisms to respond to the environment?

Because they compete for food and space. And: An ecosystem is a place were biotic (organisms are anyhing that are living which is aka biotic) and abiotic (non- living things) interact so if ecosystems never existed we'd all be dead. Ecosystems are also where biotic and biotic interact. Organisms rely on eachother to survive.

Is garbage a renewable or non-renewable resource?

Garbage is renewable. There is always more coming tomorrow. But it is not a resource, unless you are using it to generate methane (CH4). Then it is a renewable resource.A:No, because the definition of a renewable resource is any natural resource that is recycled or replaced constantly by nature. A natural resource is a part of the environment that is useful or necessary for the survival of living organisms. Garbage is constantly replaced but not by nature. Garbage is not necessary for the survival of living organisms. A:No, it is not. it isn't really renewable because we really do nothing with it but let it sit in landfills.

Do all environmentalist wish to preserve the environment?

UHH yeah that is the meaning of the word environmentalist: people who care for the environmentalist: people who wish to improve the environment which is important to our survival.

Negative effects of the Sun?

The sun is important for the survival of the organisms on earth but it is also negative. It can sometimes release too many UV rays that can harm organisms and too much heat that creates global warming.

How does the survival of the fittest idea work?

The fit are those organisms in the immediate environment that have the adaptions that allow them to survive and reproduce successfully at a better rate than organisms not so fit.

Is that true the environment favors certain variations in organisms over others?

I believe what you're referring to is natural selection. In short, yes it does. Certain organisms have characteristics that allow them to survive more efficiently in a certain environment than other organisms of the same species. As a result, these organisms survive to reproduce, thus passing on these efficient variations to their offspring, and so the cycle continues. The organism without these variations is less likely to survive, meaning it will be unable to reproduce and pass on it's characteristics. Eventually, this will cycle out the characteristics or variations that aren't adequate for surviving in said environment, and only the well-equipped will survive. This process is more commonly known as "survival of the fittest."

What are some survival organisms?

In order to survival you will have to known a few things. You will have to know what youÍre doing like finding food, how protect yourself, how to handle things in a tough environment and reproduce.

Organisms with traits well-suited to their environments survive and reproduce at a greater rate than less well adapted organisms in the same environment is called?

Natural Selection. Survival of the fittest. The organisms with the best traits are able to survive and reproduce.
