The Daintree Rainforest is an Australian tropical rainforest located in the far northern part of the state of Queensland.

It is the largest tropical rainforest in Australia, and is located 110 kilometres (68.4 miles) north of the city of Cairns, roughly between Mossman Gorge and the Bloomfield River. The forest lies between the Daintree River, north to Cooktown, and west to the Great Dividing Range.

The Daintree National Park, covering about 1,200 square kilometers (2,730 square miles), was declared a Wet Tropics World Heritage area in 1988 and includes a large part of the Greater Daintree Rainforest, which is at least 110 million years old and considered one of the oldest rainforest areas on Earth, and one of the most biologically diverse.

The area is home to over four hundred different types of bird and huge varieties - some unique or rare - of plants and animals.

The national park's Traditional Owners are the Eastern Kuku Yalangi people, who hold native title to the area.
