There are three silver oxides, two that appear in the text books Ag2O and AgO and a new one reported in 2003, Ag3O4

In Ag2O the most familiar silver has a valency of one. Its systematic name is silver(I) oxide.

AgO looks as if it is silver(II) oxide, in fact it is NOT. Its systematic name is silver (I,III) oxide. This is a mixed valence compound with silver exhibiting valencies of 1 and 3.

Ag3O4 is silver (II,III) oxide. This is a mixed valence compound with silver exhibiting valencies of 2 and 3.
