It depends on the size of the debris. Medium-sized debris can easily travel at over 150 mph in a violent tornado.
Tornadoes cause a lot of debris which can go into the waters and into the woods and staving animals can mistake this debris for food and die from eating such things as balloons and plastic and fishing equipment and other types pf debris that come from tornadoes aftermath.
