Best Answer

Zeocarbon is a mixture of activated carbon and a volcanic rock called zeolite. Activated carbon is most often used in air filtering applications to remove odor and volatile organic compounds, ( VOCs.). Zeolite is most often added to the activated carbon to form "zeocarbon," when air filters are used to treat septic tank vents or sewer vents, because of zeocarbons unique ability to remove ammonia as well as VOCs and other odor causing compounds.

Is zeocarbon a solution to global warming?

Zeocarbon is a mixture of activated carbon (recycled rice hulls and coconut shells) and crushed volcanic rock. It can capture greenhouse gases (including hyrdrogen sulfide, CO2, and ammonia) at up to 7 times the rate of using activated carbon alone and then be used as a horticultural fertilizer. Its low cost allows use in household plumbing, septic tanks, sewage collection systems, and landfills which together account for up to 40% of all greenhouse gases according to the American Institute of Architects.

Why would there be a sewer gas smell in the basement landing whenever the downstairs toilet which backs up to landing the is flushed?

If there's a basement floor drain close by, sometimes the all the water can evaporate out of the trap. This can allow sewer smells into the house. Just run some water thruough the floor drain to fill the trap back up. Ditto for any drain that doesn't get used very often. More input from FAQ Farmers: * Maybe the vent in the wall isn't connected properly or came apart. I would think you'd have a sewer smell all the time but maybe it just gets bad enough when things get stirred up to notice. * Vent pipes are a major source of sewer odors. Vent pipe filters eliminate these odors while removing greenhouse gases. Used zeocarbon is then put back into the soil.

What is the purpose of the Septic tank vent?

Any empty tank is really a tank full of air. If you want water to go into a tank or pipe or drain then you have to allow the air to escape out of it. We allow the air to escape through a "vent pipe," connected to the tank. When refering to septic tanks, this pipe is called a "septic tank vent." Unless we use a zeocarbon filter on the "septic tank vent", the vile air coming out smells like a combination of rotten eggs and ammonia. Some septic tanks are upgraded to include aeration systems where electric or solar powered aerators bubble air into the liquid in the septic tank. Although these systems treat water faster and produce cleaner treated wastewater you still need a "septic tank vent," to let the air escape from the tank so water can go into it.

Why is it important to save the environment?

It is important because it is causing the temperature to rise and it will cause extreme weather: (tropical storms, n many areas will be flooded). Another reason is because there are a lot of CO2 emissions, the air is becoming polluted and if it carries on this way, tropical and rare diseases will become very common.
