peninsula
An isthmus is a narrow strip of land with water on both sides connecting two larger land areas.
Land surrounded by water is called an island. All land areas (including continents) can be considered islands because they are surrounded by the oceans. In the case of Australia, it is considered a continent rather than an island because of its size. The same applies to Antarctica, which is separated by the sea from all other continents.
The things that surround us include the atmosphere (air), bodies of water (oceans, rivers), land (forests, mountains, plains), and various forms of vegetation (trees, plants). All these elements together make up the environment in which we live.
A strip of land surrounded by water on three sides is called a peninsula. Peninsulas are connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land, with water surrounding them on all other sides. They offer unique geographical features and can be found in various parts of the world.
They are all landforms that are surrounded by water on some or all sides. An island is completely surrounded by water, an isthmus is a narrow strip of land that connects two larger landmasses, and a peninsula is a piece of land that is almost surrounded by water but connected to a larger landmass by a narrow strip of land.
