This cloud has enough quantity of water inside to make a rain and snow , a very long rain, that has many hours of duration, ever work together with a cold day, is mainly associate with CZSA systems in South America. This cloud is dark grey, with long horizontal extension and very few vertical extension.
A nimbostratus cloud will produce rainy weather. The nimbostratus cloud is found in the sky at near surface to about 10000 feet.
