I assume you mean they are fooled into thinking its spring when it is still winter. There are at least two potential problems with this, and perhaps more. One problem is that the danger of frost may not have passed, and plants that choose to germinate may die if another frost occurs. But a bigger problem is animals could be tricked into early reproduction. Reproduction in nature is timed to the seasons to make maximum use of the resources necessary to ensure reproductive success, generally. So animals have evolved to reproduce at a time when there is ensured food availability, which is usually spring. But if animals are tricked into early reproduction, and, for example, there is a late frost that kills off a lot of food resources, a lot of those newly born animals could starve. If this happened over and over, this could have a severe effect on the long term survival of a species.
