A laxative, to get rid of any barium left.
My son had to drink 2 15oz bottles of Cheetah barium sulfate suspension and the nurse suggested that he refrigerate it. We placed the plastic bottles in a tub of icewater to chill quickly, and in thirty minutes it was chilled. Still disgusting, but less so when it was cold.
for BaSO4, make the original solution acidic with hno3 and then ad BaCl2. the white percipitate of baso4 is the confirmation. for baco3, heat the acidified original solution until gas forms. if there is gas, and if the gas, when bubbled through a solution of ba(oh)2 percipitates a cloudy white baco3, then that means there was baco3 in the original solution

Oxygen itself is not considered a medication, as it is a naturally occurring element essential for human survival. However, it can be used as a therapy or treatment for conditions such as low oxygen levels in the blood or respiratory issues.
Waiting for the thermometer reading to stop changing ensures an accurate and stable temperature measurement, preventing any potential error due to fluctuations in the reading. This practice helps to obtain a reliable and precise result for the patient's temperature assessment.
Barium enema, and Fleet enema
Yes, for patients it can be quite embarrassing to not hold an enema. However, the volume of fluid that is instilled during an enema varies from the type of enema. You can be assured that the nurse caring for you does not see this as a moment of humor. We truly empathize with patients and the discomfort that the procedure creates. Expulsion of material and fluid from the rectum is a normal turn of events after an enema.
3 H enema is the slang term that is given to a nurse who chases after the doctors. The 3 H's stand for high, hot and hell.Ê

Yes, you can. I had one when i had a colostomy for a few months in preparation for reversal surgery. I'm not saying this to be a jerk, but be prepared for some failry sever pain during the procedure. Maybe mine was just the unlucky exception to the rule, but it was a horrific experience. There isn't any way to even lightly joke about it the way colonoscopies are sometimes joked about. You don't generally remember the colonoscopy thanks to the drugs, but they didn't give any for the barium enema. I'm a big guy and have a high tolerance to pain. This nearly broke me. If you have any pain killers, see if you can take some first to get good and high. Also, the upside is that it can lead to good news and there is an end to the horror within sight. thank God it meant that it my case. The nurse (Radiology Tech maybe? I don't know) felt very bad for me and kept asking if there was anything she could do. I finally responded "I don't know, *is* there anything you can do!" She offered all the moral support she could give...gee thanks. Look, I appreciate the empathy, but unless you can do something please try to shut up. I'm sorry, i went off on a tangent there. To sum up: Yes, you can have a barium enema with a colostomy. In me experience, while necessary, it hurts nearly as bad as getting the colostomy. It can help the surgeon tell if you're ready for a reversal. The lady with me for mine was very nice, but stupid.
i thought it would be an allergic reaction to Vancomycin?
Someone should become a nurse because they want to. Nobody should become a nurse if they do not want to.
