If plants and animals lived forever what will happen to the nitrates in Earth's soil?

If plants and animals lived forever, the nitrates in Earth's soil would continue to cycle through the ecosystem indefinitely. Nitrates are essential for plant growth and are constantly recycled by decomposers breaking down dead matter. Without the natural turnover of plants and animals, nitrates may become more abundant over time, potentially leading to nutrient imbalances in the soil.

If plants and animals live forever what would happen to the nitrates in the earths soil?

If plants and animals lived forever, the nitrates in the Earth's soil would continuously cycle through the ecosystem. Plants would take up nitrates for growth, animals would consume plants, and when plants and animals die, their organic matter would decompose and release nitrates back into the soil for future use by plants.

Why are bacteria important to the nitrogen cycle?

because when bacteria convert ammonia into nitrates and nitrites, producers need them to make proteins, and then consumers eat the producers and reuse the nitrogen to make their own proteins.

Without cellulose a tree branch would snap or bend easily in the wind?

Cellulose provides structural support and rigidity to plant cell walls, giving them strength and durability. Without cellulose, plant cell walls would be weaker and more prone to breaking or bending under stress, such as from wind or other environmental factors.

What would the earth be like without decay?

Without decay, dead organisms and waste would not break down, leading to a buildup of organic matter. This would disrupt nutrient cycling, hinder plant growth, and eventually affect the balance of ecosystems. Overall, it would result in a less diverse and less sustainable environment.

Why do Sundew plants need nitrates?

sundrew grow in oligotrophic soil with little nitrates what they can get from their soil they need to supplment with what they catch in order to be able to grow. nitrates - are used within the plants to synthesis amino acids, proteins and peptides without these the plant would not be able to grow and become stunted. in a natural environment this would prevent it from being able to compete with other plant species resulting in death and local extinction from the environment.

How would you use nitrates in a sentence?

nitrates are chemically salts. nitrates Can be used as fertilizers.

Why would the level of nitrates in the soil in the beakers increase during an investigation?

The nitrates in the soil in the beakers could increase during an investigation due to the breakdown of organic matter in the soil, the addition of nitrogen-containing fertilizers, or the release of nitrates from decomposing plant material. These factors can contribute to the accumulation of nitrates in the soil over time.

yes it does without food and water the plant would OF COURSE IT WOULD DIE

What does it mean when weed leafs start going brown?

It could be a number of things, if it's an outdoor plant it could have spider mites which are a parasite the feeds on the leaves, but usually it would show signs of holes along with it. Another could be over fertilization of nitrates. Don't pee on it, it's a myth because urine contains high concentrations of nitrates and phosphates, and will " Burn " the plant. Lack of water would also be another.

What would happen to a plant without chlorophyll?

The plant would lose its color and eventually start to wither.

Can a male have trichomoniasis without having symptoms?

Yes, a male can have trich without having symptoms.

What deos algae eat?

Algae feeds off of ammonia nitrites and nitrates for the most part along with all trace elements that would also feed a underwater plant.

What would happen if a plant did not have chloroplast?

The plant would die. Chloroplast turns light into energy and without energy the plant would eventually die.

Would a plant grow without light?

Plants require light for photosynthesis, a process crucial for their growth and survival.
