Convergent boundaries are where plates move into one another. When the Indian Plate collided with the harder Eurasian Plate the Indian Plate went underneath and raised up the Eurasian Plate to form the Himalayas.

What type of mountain would you expect to find at a convergent boundary involving two oceanic plates?

Volcanic mountain

Would you expect to find a folded mountain range at a mid-ocean ridge?

You would expect to find a fold mountain range at a convergent or collision boundary rather than at a divergent boundary such as a mid ocean ridge.

Would you expect to see a folded mountain range at an ocean ridge?

No. A mid-ocean ridges is a divergent boundary. You find folded mountain at convergent plate boundaries.

What type of plate boundary occurs when plates come together?

Convergent boundary, which in this case would lead to mountain building (as in the Himalayas)

Which of the convergent boundaries would most likely create a non-volcanic mountain range?

it is found in the Nepal where the Himalayas lye under that is the convergent boundary

What happens when two continental plates come together?

When two Continental plates come together, they both collide. This forms mountains.

Is a mountain a example of a convergent boundary?

A mountain is an example of a possible result of converging plate boundaries. An actual example of a converging plate boundary would be the Indian-Eurasian Plate Boundarywhich is creating the Himalayan Mountain Range. Other convergent plates can create trenches such as the Mariana Trench, which is the lowest place on the surface of the Earth.

Which landform would most likely be found at a convergent subduction boundary?

convergent boundary -rift valley divergent boundary -mid-ocean ridge

Where would a convergent boundary be located on the ocean floor?

any where

Are the two plates along the coast of South America probably a divergent boundary or a convergent boundary?

It is a convergent boundary The subduction of the pacific plate underneath the west coast of South America creates the uplift and volcanoes that is still producing the Andean mountain range. A divergent boundary would create a mid-ocean ridge, or somthing akin to the great rift valley in Africa.

What kind of plate collision would most likely result in the formation of the most extensive mountain range?

two pieces of continental crust meeting at a convergent boundary
