I believe that overall in that time the earths ice caps will be melted and the problem will become so serious that the government and comanys will require so much to attempt a solution to the problem that the iphones current model in that year will not be developed along with several other technologies.

How is it that global warming is heating up the earth and melting the ice caps but the earth is also cooling down over time?

Global warming is causing the Earth's average temperature to rise due to an increase in greenhouse gases trapping heat in the atmosphere. While there are natural cycles of cooling and warming over millions of years, the current rate of global warming is much faster due to human activity. The melting of ice caps is a direct consequence of this rapid warming, not a reflection of a long-term cooling trend.

What are some unpreventable causes of global warming?

There are no unpreventable causes of global warming. We could have prevented it, and we can still prevent the worst results if we act now.Change to renewable energyStop burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas)Replant the earth's forests.

Why does global warming decrease temperatures?

True global warming does not decrease temperatures. So, either the model for global warming's effects is hokus-pokus, or global warming as presently claimed, does not exist. Some global warming followers will have you believe that global warming makes the weather "act crazy". If true, then it is not really global warming, is it.

Has global warming helped the earth?

Global warming will raise the temperature of the earth and cause great changes to the climate. The earth will cope with this. All living things on earth, however, may die if global warming continues.

How long has global warming effected the earth?

Approximately 4 billion years, give or take a few million years. Since the beginning, the earth has gone through continuous warming and cooling periods. For instance, about 200 million years ago dinsoaurs were roaming around the jungles of Colorado. Global cooling might have been their downfall. More recently, glaciers covered most of Wisconsin about 700,000 years or so ago. Since then there have been as many as 10-12 glacial advances and retreats. The most recent major glacial advance peaked out about 20,000 years ago, then global warming set in and glaciers retreated for about 10,000 years after which there was a slight glacial advance. The earth warmed again and peaked around 5,000 years ago. The warming period since the last major glacial advance was when man started developing agriculture, and have more time to invent stuff. About 2000 years ago there was a minor glacial advance in some areas, then warming. About 500-600 years ago the "little ice age" began with cooling temps that lasted to the mid 1800's. Since then it has been warming except for a cool down from about 1940-1970 when some scientists thought we were going into another "ice age". Since the mid 70's things have been warming rapidly. This warming has been a great opportunity for some folks to blame all global warming on human activities. So far I don't think anyone really knows for sure, but whatever the cause, it could have profound effects on all life on earth, just as it always has.

In 100000 years time roughly what percentage of the Earth will be covered in water due to global warming?

50% that's the answer

What will happen in a few years time when global warming gets out of control?

Out of control means the earth will be too hot for life.

What is the opposite of global warming?

The opposite of global warming is global cooling, which refers to a decrease in the Earth's average temperature over an extended period of time.

Is global warming a rapid or slow change?

Global warming is a rapid change. The earth's temperature has risen very fast in the past 50 years, compared to the very gradual rise over the past 12,000 years, the time of the last Ice Age.

Is it global warming or the earth's orbit getting closer to the sun?

The main cause of current global warming is the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, primarily due to human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. Changes in Earth's orbit are natural and occur over long time scales, but they are not responsible for the rapid warming observed in recent decades.

How would you respond to critics that global warming is not occurring?

The term "global warming" should not be used in this argument any more. Rather, the question/discussion is about global climate change, some places are getting warmer and some are getting colder. There is sufficient evidence that the earth's climate, as it has been recorded in certain locations over the last 40-50 years or so, is showing change. Since the age of the earth according to the people claiming "global warming" is in the hundreds of millions of years, the data recorded over the past 50 years is only a dot in time on the chart. So, claiming that we are in a period of global warming and not a warming trend is not backed by a good sample size of data. Even if we had good data for the past several thousand years, it would be insignificant in regards to the age of the earth. We can make data say whatever we want. As human beings, we should be responsible users of the natural resources of earth and protect life.

Why is it cold outside when people are talking about global warming?

Global warming refers to the long-term warming trend of the Earth's climate system, which is driven by increased levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. While the planet is warming overall, this doesn't mean that every single location will experience warmer temperatures all the time. Cold weather in a specific location at a specific time does not negate the broader trend of global warming.

How can earth be in the middle of an ice age when it is experiencing global warming?

Earth is currently in an interglacial period within an ice age cycle, which means that although global temperatures are warming, the planet as a whole is still experiencing the effects of the ongoing ice age. The term "ice age" refers to a period of time when large portions of the Earth's surface are covered in ice sheets, which is distinct from short-term fluctuations in temperature like global warming.

How does the earth's orbit affect global warming?

Not at all. Milankovitch Cycles are tied to episodic ice ages or glacial epochs. Currently earth should be entering a very gradual cooling period, instead of heating up, according to orbitally derived solar insolation.

Does global warming happen every year?

Global warming is not seasonal, or annual. It is gradually increasing all the time.
