We will be forced to use renewable energy like solar, wind and geothermal power and continue to use nuclear power. We also must use electric or hydrogen cars because without fossil fuels we will not have gasoline.

Why else (besides politics) do you think that the price of gas is as high as it is?

As a commodity becomes rare, it's price rises.

(Unless it gets replaced ... don't forget that the first use of oil (fossil fuel) was to replace the expensive whale oil.)

Fossil fuels are a nonrenewable resource. Fossil fuels take millions of years to develop under extreme conditions. Once they are gone, they can no longer be part of our energy mix.
