When it is overused.

Geothermal energy became quite popular in Rotorua, New Zealand. Many people had drilled down to the hot water that was just about everywhere. Now however they are finding that the temperature of the water is reducing as is the amount of water available.

Is geothermal power renewable or nonrenewable?

Geothermal poweris a renewable source of energy if it is utilised correctly. However if the geothermal resourceisn't managed correctly it can be over-exploited and in which case there are doubts about whether this resource can be truly classed as renewable. Whilst the resource is eventually replenished, it can take many years, and so I would say that geothermal can only be truly classed as a renewable resourceif used correctly, because if not the energy source will be run out.

Is geothermal energy affected by solar energy?

Since geothermal energy comes from underneath the earth you would say no. But since there is water flowing to from the the wells that produce the geothermal energy and solar energy (heat from the sun) can change water temperature, it can.

Which of these is a nonrenewable resource Wind Solar energy Geothermal energy or Fossil fuels?

The only one classified as non-renewable is fossil fuels. In fact, fossil fuels are the ONLY energy resources that are classified as non-renewable, simply because we know that there must be a finite supply, however large. Similar forms of bio-energy such as peat may be considered non-renewable because of the long time frame required to replace it compared to its rate of use. So when we say "non-renewable" it means that oil cannot be created to meet future demands on human time scales.

Why do we say geothermal energy is not sustainable?

Geothermal energy is considered sustainable because it is a renewable energy source that relies on heat from the Earth's crust. However, some concerns about sustainability include the potential for depleting local heat reservoirs if not managed properly and the release of greenhouse gases and other pollutants during the extraction and conversion processes. It is important to conduct thorough monitoring and consider environmental impacts to ensure the long-term sustainability of geothermal energy.

Is there enough energy on the Earth?

Let us say that we would like to know if there is enough energy to provide the Earth's current population of nearly seven billion people with a standard of living that will satisfy them; the answer then will be no, there isn't. The Earth will need more energy.

How important will geothermal energy be in the future?

It is difficult to say. There are many forms of renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, tidal and wave, geothermal among others) and some are easier to set up than geothermal. A geothermal power plant requires two shafts drilled deep into the earth to get hot water and steam for the plant, and wind and solar may be an easier answer for the future.

What are the non conventional energy?

I would say solar, wind, tidal, wave, biomass, geothermal. Whether nuclear should be included is doubtful, but some will do so.

Why is crude oil a non-renewable energy?

When we say 'renewable', what we really mean is that the energy source is replenishing at least as fast as it is being used. Since the sun is always shining, it is renewable. Crude oil, and other fossil fuels, replenish very slowly - on the scale of millions of years.

How are non-renewable energy resources better than renewable resources?

Generally they are more convenient and portable. Most of our energy is produced by non renewable sources and society is, presently, adapted to that. Many people would say they were not better, because of the carbon they are putting into the atmosphere. They are cheaper at the moment because few countries have a price on carbon. Is a Toasters energy nonrenewable or renewable?

Kinda a dumb question...Sorry!.....The toaster is just an end user device....It doesn't have energy as such...It USES energy in the form of electricity. Where that energy comes from can either be RE or Non RE, it... (the toaster) doesn't care. Like I say...Dumb question....

Which non-renewable energy resources are fossil fuels?

Renewable means that it comes back again tomorrow even after we have used it as much as we can today, like sunlight, or wind or tidal power.Tropical rainforests are non-renewable (well, not for hundreds and hundreds of years) and are NOT fossil fuel. Most non-renewable sources of energy are fossil fuels, but there are many minerals like gold and silver, etc, that are not fossil fuels, but are non-renewable. Strictly speaking if we wait around for millions of years some of them might renew, but generally we say, if we use up all the gold in the world today, then there's no more tomorrow. Non-renewable!

Why do you say renewable energy resource it energy cannot be created nor destroyed?

Renewable energy resources refer to sources of energy that can be naturally replenished, such as sunlight, wind, and biomass. While energy cannot be created or destroyed according to the law of conservation of energy, renewable energy resources can be harnessed and converted into usable forms of energy without depleting the source. This distinguishes them from non-renewable energy sources like fossil fuels, which are finite and, once used, cannot be easily replaced within a human lifetime.
