The sky
this is to do with the clouds albedo (the amount of light they reflect) whiter clouds have more small particles whist dark clouds have less but bigger particles, this makes the white cloud more reflective as the particles have a bigger surface area
These are nimbostratus clouds. They are low-lying, thick, and usually associated with continuous precipitation like rain or snow. When these clouds appear in the sky, it often indicates prolonged periods of wet weather ahead.
Three types of medium clouds are altocumulus, altostratus, and nimbostratus. Altocumulus clouds are white or gray patches or layers with a lumpy appearance. Altostratus clouds are gray or blue-gray layers covering the sky. Nimbostratus clouds are thick and dark clouds that often bring steady precipitation.
Nimbostratus clouds are thick, low-level clouds that bring steady rain or snow. These clouds often cover the sky in a blanket of gray or dark gray, and the precipitation they produce can last for a long period of time.
Altocumulus and altostratus clouds can be found between 20,000 and 6,500 feet in the air. Altocumulus clouds are white or gray with patchy cloud layers, while altostratus clouds are gray or blue-gray and cover the sky with a veil-like appearance.
When it rains, clouds form in the sky due to the moisture in the air condensing. These clouds appear gray because they block sunlight from passing through, causing the sky to appear darker. This gray appearance is a result of the clouds' thickness and the way they scatter and absorb sunlight.
they have lots of moisture in them, so when it rains or snows, they go white or lighter again.

Dark rain Clouds are clouds that are black when it rains
Dark rain Clouds are clouds that are black when it rains
Nimbus clouds; they are usually a sign of heavy rains.
nimbostratus clouds
the water cycle. the rain builds up in the clouds then it rains
because they are filled with rain
water and clouds
because sometimes it rains and the clouds don't have time to move it rains and when the suns shines theres no clouds to cover it because sometimes it rains and the clouds don't have time to move it rains and when the suns shines theres no clouds to cover it
Big blankets of dull clouds, that can give drizzle but not heavy rains.
