Assuming continuing need, oil will become too expensive to extract before it runs out. Considering the products, (plastics fertilisers road tar pharmaceuticals etc) we will pay a lot before shifting to natural gas (methane), synthetic gas from coal, and oil from coal. There are several hundred years worth of coal in the world, so if we stop taking oil from the ground in any quantity by the end of the century, you could say 2100, but taking coal conversion into account, 2400-2500.
Also bear in mind tech does not stand still, it is likely we won't need petrol by 2100.
:-)

But, if you are asking if we continue to use petroleum the way we do without replacements, then it will last until 2070 MAX.

The supply of petroleum on Earth is finite and non-renewable, meaning that once it is extracted and used, it cannot be replaced. As a result, there is a concern that the world's petroleum reserves will eventually become depleted if consumption continues at current rates. Efforts are being made to transition to more sustainable and renewable sources of energy to reduce dependence on petroleum.
Petroleum is collected through the process of drilling oil wells into underground reservoirs. Once the well is drilled, a pump is used to extract the petroleum from the reservoir and bring it to the surface. The collected petroleum is then transported via pipelines or tankers to refineries for processing.
Usually, unless they're electric cars but then they still have to use some as backup but not as much. Basically to make that make a lot more sense, yes cars run on fossil fuels, gasoline to be exact, jsut some more than others.
No they are not. why i am not sure, but i think it is because 1. petroleum is used differently than oil. 2. oil is thicker than petroleum 3. If thy were the same thing than why would they be called different?
Lots of companies drill for petroleum, It's one of the biggest industries in the world.
Smart cars run on petroleum.
One good thing about petroleum is that it allows our vehicles to run. Another good thing about petroleum is that it allows many people to have opportunities for employment in petroleum exploration.
Petroleum oil is a finite resource, meaning it is not renewable and will eventually run out.
if petroleum is exhausted there will be no cars in the future and we would have to run bicycles ,bullock carts etc. by ADITYA
yes. Plastic is a petroleum product and petroleum is a non-renewable resource
i think petroleum but they originally were meant for ethanol
nothing will happen
Petroleum is a finite resource that will eventually run out. It is not renewable because it takes millions of years to form and is being used much faster than it can be replenished.
Yes, petroleum sources of energy are finite and will eventually run out. However, estimates of when this will happen vary. As renewable energy sources become more prevalent and technology advances, the need for petroleum may decrease.
Vehicles can be run on liquid petroleum gas (LPG) provided that the engine has been modified to run on LPG rather than petrol or diesel.
yes because it can eventually run out. So don't use too much!
liquefied petroleum gas and liquid propone gas LPG stands for "Liquified Petroleum Gas" or "Liquid Propane Gas". The term is commonly used when describing the gas tanks of vehicles which run on such fuel.
