Arizona, USA.
The most famous well known Meteor Crater is in northern Arizona in the USA.

Answ2. Strictly speaking, a meteor is one that is seen burning up in the atmosphere. It becomes a meteorite if it lands.Meteor.
A meteor only hits the Earth's atmosphere, not the Earth itself. When it impacts the Earth's surface, it is called a meteorite. The largest meteorite crater in Australia is the Wolfe Creek crater which is also the second largest meteorite crater in the world. The crater has a diameter of about 875m, and is over 50m deep. Originally, it was about 150m deep, but windblown sand, gypsum and calcite has filled in the crater over time, and given the floor of the crater a smooth, flat surface. The Wolfe Creek Crater lies on the northeastern edge of the Great Sandy Desert, about 90 km south of Halls Creek in north Western Australia. It can only be reached by an unsealed road that joins the Tanami Rd, 145km south of Halls Creek. The journey from Halls Creek takes between 1.5 and 2 hours.
a meteor
When a meteor reaches the Earth's surface, it is classified as a meteorite.
Intrusive features are found on the inside of the volcano e.g.magma chamber, and extrusive features are found on the outside e.g. crater.
When a meteor hits the Earth it forms a crater.
a CRATER
Crater.
There is the famous crater in Arizona, known as Meteor Crater or Barringer Crater. It is not actually meteors that cause craters. Meteors are destroyed in the Earth's atmosphere. If they survive the Earth's atmosphere and then land on Earth, they are known as meteorites. So it is meteorites that actually cause craters.
A meteorite. Most scientists believe that a meteorite formed the Barringer Crater. There is a difference between a meteor and a a meteorite. A meteorite is a meteor that has hit the earth's surface.
It will create a crater similar to the Barringer crater (Meteor crater).Where it actually hits will determine the overall destructive effect.Oceans: TsunamiCities: Total destruction.Barren land: Crater.
When a meteor hits Earth, it forms a crater, or hole in the ground , made by a space object.
A large meteoric impact such as Meteor Crater in Arizona, displaces the sedimentary rock that has existed before impact. On the rim of Meteor Crater are displaced boulders from lower depositional areas. Small fragments of the meteor are found around the entire area of the impact, and they may be detected with something as simple as a magnet. Features that indicate a volcanic event, like volcanic cinders or quantities of extrusive igneous rock , would also be missing from the impact site.
The Daily Orbit - 2012 Meteor Crater Found in Iowa 1-221 was released on: USA: 12 July 2013
In Arizona you can still see the crater left my a meteor which hit the Earth thousands of years ago.
crater
It has been estimated that Meteor Crater was formed about 50,000 years ago.
