Best Answer

The next time the moon rises, it will arise from beneath the eastern horizon.

From there, it will cross the sky slowly until, very roughly 11 hours after it rose,
it will settle beneath the western horizon.

It's orbiting the Earth about a quarter-million miles away, as it has been doing for the last 4 billion years or so.

You posted this question on October 5, 2013, but WikiAnswers is forever.

"Tonight", October 5, 2013, the Moon is "new", and is right next to the Sun in the sky, so you won't be seeing it tonight. Tomorrow, go outside and look west just as the Sun sets; you should be able to see a thin crescent Moon low on the western horizon.
