the biome makes a rainforest a rainforest. (a biome is the climate, animal life and plant life)take the word and break it into two. a forest is a land with lots of trees and plants and sometimes animals. so put rain back into it and it's a forest that has lots of rain because of the location and/or climateAnimals and trees and all the nature around it makes up a RAINFOREST.
There is not exact opposite of a forest biome it is more of an opinion. But I think that it would be a Tundra because the rainforest has many trees and a warm climate and a Tundra has almost no trees and a cold climate.
The deciduous forest biome has trees that shed their leaves in the fall and temperatures that vary with the seasons. This biome is found all over the world in temperate areas.
The reason why there are no trees in the tundra is because the soil is permanently frozen. This is called the Permafrost.
