The coldest biome would be the ice sheet and polar desert of Antarctica - although really only the polar desert near the edges supports any kind of life (biomes are a formation of plants and animals that have common characteristics due to similar climates).
Note that there are several different classification schemes for biomes. Antarctica is also classified as:
Polar
Tundra (although only the very edge of Antarctica would qualify for this)
Antarctic (obviously)
About 15% of Earth's surface is covered by the taiga biome! :)
The coldest biome on Earth's surface is the tundra. This biome has long, cold winters with temperatures dropping below freezing, and short, cool summers. The tundra is characterized by low biodiversity and a layer of permafrost beneath the surface.
Approximately 20% of the Earth's surface is covered by the savanna biome, characterized by grasslands with scattered trees and shrubs. Savannas are typically found in tropical and subtropical regions.
The largest of Earth's biomes is the marine biome, which includes oceans, coral reefs, and estuaries. This biome covers about 70% of the Earth's surface and is home to a wide variety of plants and animals adapted to living in water.
Height above earths surface is called elevation

An interesting fact about the freshwater biome is that it covers less than 1% of the Earth's surface but is home to more than 40% of all fish species.
its a biome that has 40% of the earths speicies
The coolest layer of the Earth is the lithosphere, which is the rigid outermost layer consisting of the crust and upper mantle. This layer's temperature decreases with depth, making it the coolest part of the Earth's structure.

there aren't really any countries in the aquatic biome, as every country is on land. Though some major reefs, aquatic regions exist. e.g Halong Bay (Vietnam) GBR (Australia) North Sea (Scandinavia) and the Amazon River (Brazil)
