Many industries pollute lakes by dumping wastes, but just an ordanary person can pollute the earth. Just by dropping a candy rapper your setting an example for people to think its ok. But eventually that mess will pile up, as in the movie "Wall-E."

I believe whoever gave the previous answer should study before answering something like this. Activities that occur naturally pollute the most. Volcanic activity pollutes the most though. Humans contribute very little pollution compared to natural things.

cars and power plants and cigarette butts hurt the earth like in Ontario Hamilton has a big power plant and from a far u can see the sky gray. My sister lived there for 2 Tu 3 years and she got Asama its gone now but it is very polluted

Natural activities are in no way comparable to the pollution given out by coal/ petroleum/ "clean coal" power plants OR vehicle pollution. The Earth can handle it's own systems such as volcanic activity, but millions of tons of CO2 throw off many ecosystems' balance in many ways. I might be going in a different direction of pollution, but I think it's an important point
