Greg Noll surfed what is thought to be the largerst wave at Makaha in December, 1969.
The biggest waves in the world havent been discovered yet, and usually don't break there out in the open ocean in some deep reef. But the biggest waves discovered are definetly on Oahu's north shore. Pipeline, waimea, V-land, Sunset, Log Cabins, and gas chambers get huge on the outer reefs. North shore of all Hawaiian islands gets huge but the biggest wave ever ridden was 98 feet on the outer reefs of log cabins.
A ray is perpendicular to the wave front of a wave. It represents the direction of energy propagation, while the wave front shows the position of the wave at a specific moment in time.
When a red wave and a blue wave interfere constructively, they combine to form a purple wave. This occurs when the peaks of the red wave align with the peaks of the blue wave, reinforcing each other and creating a larger amplitude purple wave.
therre is more than one wave, it could be a surface wave, or an s wave or p wave
The type of mechanical wave in which particles in the medium move back and forth in the direction of wave motion is called a longitudinal wave. In a longitudinal wave, the particles oscillate parallel to the direction of wave propagation, creating compressions and rarefactions along the wave. Sound waves are an example of longitudinal waves.
77ft at cotres bank
Ken Bradshaw is generally accepted as riding the biggest wave ever surfed 1-28-98 at Outside Log Cabins, Oahu, with a face of about 80'. There is no photo of it that can be analyzed, however some grainy video was shot from a mile away and the view was partly blocked by a wave in front of it. Garrett McNamara entered Guiness Book of World Records for a wave officially judged to be 78 feet high on 11-1-11 at Nazare Portugal. Mike Parsons surfed a wave at Cortez Bank on 1-5-08 that photographic evidence suggested was over 70 feet and later officially determined to be 77 feet. Both of these waves were towed into using a jet ski. As for waves caught by paddling in, Shane Dorian paddled into an official world record at Jaws Maui on 3-15-11 on a wave officially judged to be 57 feet high in which he was totally barrelled, briefly, before getting slammed. He wore a new survival device, which Shane designed himself, that inflated helping him reach the surface quickly after his wipeout.
The Biggest Wave was created in 1987.
I think I read in a book about big wave riding that they achieve speeds of about 50 mph.
A gravitational wave is a type of wave that cannot be surfed or ridden like ocean waves. Gravitational waves are ripples in the fabric of spacetime that are created by massive objects accelerating, such as black holes or neutron stars orbiting each other. They travel at the speed of light and are not something that can be physically surfed or interacted with in the same way as traditional waves.
43 feet
The record for longest distance surfing a wave is held by Brazilian surfer, Picuruta Salazar. He surfed a tidal wave known as the "Pororoca" on the Amazon River in Brazil for 37 minutes while travelling 7.8 miles (12.5 km).
Surfed.
A rogue wave. One once measured up to 1740 feet.
