Deserts have a high air pressure so the air sinks, making the no. of clouds less and bringing expected dry weather.

High pressure areas form when an airmass cools over a cool land or ocean surface. The cooling causes the air layer to shrink, becoming slightly thinner. This shrinkage then causes surrounding air in the upper troposphere to fill up the extra space. The added weight of the extra air causes higher pressure at the surface.

Remember: cool air------> more dense

Do high pressure belts give rise to many of the world's largest deserts?

Yes, high pressure belts, especially around 30 degrees north and 30 degrees south contribute to the formation of deserts. High pressure is sinking air that inhibits air from rising to carry moisture into the higher atmosphere and suppresses the development of rain storms.

What are Mid latitude deserts are caused primarily by?

The descent of dry air at these latitudes.

Clouds do not precipitate in deserts due to Low Humidity or Low Pressure or High Wind velocity or High temperature?

Clouds do not precipitate in deserts due to low pressure. Clouds do not precipitate in deserts due to low pressure.

How does atmospheric pressure create deserts?

High atmospheric pressure generally suppresses the development of rain clouds. The earth has belts of high pressure, usually between latitudes of 25 - 35 degrees north or south, where many of the earth's deserts are located.

Why air move from low to high air pressure?

In areas of high pressure the air is being squeezed more by the air above it than it is in areas of lower pressure. So the air will tend to get pushed away from the high pressure area.
