Because the dry land (continents) are the top of the tectonic plates?
Depends on what you mean by 'plates'. There is a kind of platter called a plate, and there are many, MANY of those in the world. If you mean tectonic plates....then I can't tell you.
earthquake and volcano activity zones are located where tectonic plates meet and either converge diverge or slide past each other.
All countries are located on tectonic plates - in fact the world is entirely covered with tectonic plates! Where different plates interact with each other the results can affect the countries locally. Where plates push together you can get volcanoes and earthquakes (an example is Japan.) Where plates pull apart there is usually lots of ocean but you can get some calm volcanism, (an example being Iceland.) Where plates rub past one another there can be earthquakes. An example would be the west coast of the USA and the San Andreas Fault.)
It has to do with stress in the earth's crust. There are more earthquakes where there is more stress. Most of this occurs at the boundaries between the tectonic plates as they slowly grind against each other.
Earthquakes happen everywhere, but they're more frequent in some areas then others. It's quicker to explain where Earthquakes happen and let you work out where they're less likely to happen. Earthquakes are most common at tectonic plate boundaries, that is, where different plates meet. The largest events usually happen where two plates are colliding. About 90% of the world's earthquakes happen along the ring of fire. The ring of fire is roughly where the Pacific Ocean is near to or touches land. It's caused by tectonic plate movement/collisions.
arabian peninsula or iceland :) hope that helps :P xx
They're spread around the world... usually along the edges of tectonic plates.
mainly on tectonic plates, such as, Iceland
Because of the tectonic plates. Some countries are on the edge of tectonic plates.
tectonic plates
Volcanoes are only found on the edge of tectonic plates & they can also be found on cracks in the tectonic plates which is un-common
plates tonics
Near tectonic plates:)
the world explodes

Volcanoes mostly occur in areas where tectonic plates meet. Most of the active volcanoes in the world occur in what is called the Ring of Fire around the edges of the Pacific Ocean.
well there can be earthquakes anywhere in the world because of the tectonic plates
