This is because the water of crystallization (which is the reason of its blue color) gets lost due to heating, and so anhydrous CuSO4 is formed which is white in color.

Why colour of copper sulphate solution changes to light green when iron filings are added?

When an iron nail is dipped in the copper sulfate solution then iron displaces copper from the copper sulfate because iron is more reactive than copper.

Why does the color of copper sulphate change when an iron nail dipped in it?

When an iron nail is placed in a copper sulphate solution, iron displaces copper from copper sulphate solution forming iron sulphate, which is green in colour. Therefore, the blue colour of copper sulphate solution fades and green colour appears.

What will happen if copper metal is added to iron sulfate solution?

nothing will happen as i have done this experiment. I think it is because iron is more reactive than copper, so the copper can't take away the sulphate. but if you added the iron to a copper sulphate solution the product would be iron sulphate this reaction is called displacment. Iron nail dipped in copper sulphate solution?

When an iron nail is dipped in the solution of copper sulphate solution , after a while the solution changes into the colour of green becoming iron sulphate and a brown substance is found on the iron nail which is copper so we get to know that the displacement reaction is produced

The blue colour of the solution fades during the electrolysis of copper sulfate. Explain why.?

Why does the colour of copper sulphate solution change when an iron nail is dipped in it? What happens when iron nail are placed in copper sulphate solutions with word equation?

If iron nails are placed in a copper sulphate solution they turn green and rusted which means they become copper plated nails.I think the word equation is :iron + copper sulphate - copper + Iron sulphate.Iron displaces copper

What happens when an iron nail is dipped in copper sulphate solution?

A brown layer of copper gets deposited on iron nail. This change is due to a chemical reaction between copper sulphate and iron. Also the colour of the solution changes from blue to green due to the formation of iron sulphate. This reaction can be represented by the following equation: Copper sulphate + Iron = Iron sulphate + Copper solution (CuSO4) + (Fe) = (FeSO) + (Cu)

What happens when iron nail are placed in copper sulphate solution?

the solution turns green and the nails develop a brown deposit which is copper. the iron displaces the copper in the copper sulphate solution. This is because iron is more reactive than copper.
