Because animals can sense when it is going to storm, and they will go into their nests, holes, whatever they live in, and be quiet before a storm starts and during it. Insects do this too.
Often times before a hurricane comes there isn't very much noise because most animals have already sensed a storm coming and left, therefore you don't hear birds singing etc, etc,. It is often used as a phrase for people's life, like if your life was going really well someone that's a pessimist might say it's the quiet before the storm.
There's actually five stages of development. It starts off as a TROPICAL WAVE, which is just a low pressure area with westward blowing winds. Then its a TROPICAL DISTURBANCE, which is an area of thunderstorms that's about 100-300 miles in diameter (basically this is just a really bad storm, with gusty winds, heavy rains, etc). It usually lasts for 24 hours. Then its a TROPICAL DEPRESSION, which is a low pressure area, with 38 mph winds or less. Then its a TROPICAL STORM, which has 39-73 mph winds. Finally, its a HURRICANE, with 74 mph and above winds. (Note that the tropical depression, tropical storm, and hurricane are all considered tropical cyclones).
Yes, it is darkest just before dawn. This phenomenon occurs because as the Earth rotates, the sun is below the horizon, causing less light to reach our eyes, making it appear darker. Just before dawn, the sun starts to rise, bringing light and gradually illuminating the sky.
The eye of the hurricane is an area of low pressure, generally below 995 millibars. This may seem somewhat counterintuitive, as air sinks in the eye of a hurricane, which is more typical of high pressure than low pressure.
When the pressure drops in a tropical storm, it indicates that the storm is intensifying and becoming stronger. A lower pressure system is associated with stronger winds and heavier rainfall, which can lead to more severe weather conditions.

Frogs will always croak, but it seems as if they croak more before a storm. This is because all noises become louder and more vibrant just before rain because the sound is reflected and magnified by the low clouds.
thunder storm season starts on november 23rd, at midnight, just when the narwhale bacons

yes
The common thread would by that they "lie down," but that is incorrect. Cattle will pretty well continue with what their doing as the storm approaches, but when it starts getting a little too close for comfort, or when the rain starts getting a bit heavier than they like, then they go take shelter and sometimes gather together in a close bunch to keep warmer if the storm front brings cooler temperatures.
when your guinea pig is in a thunder storm ( which has just happened recently with mine) just give it love or attention and in some huge cases when your pig is whimpering and running in circles make sure to put it in a quiet place like a basement or an attic with no windows.
its just a sign
Just before winter starts.
You use the article "a" before a word that starts with a consonant, and you use the article "an" before a word that starts with a vowel. you use an a if there is a vowl after the a. if there is not a vowl after a then it just stays a
