Jan 1, 2008: Virologists investigating transmission of the flu virus found that it is more likely to spread at colder temperatures. The dry, cold conditions pull moisture out of droplets released by coughs and sneezes, which allows the virus to linger in the air. Additionally, cold, low humidity air dries out the nasal passages and makes virus transmission more likely. This contradicts the long-held view that the flu spreads because the immune system is less active during the winter.

If winter does not happen, it could disrupt ecosystems and lead to unbalanced plant and animal populations due to the lack of seasonal changes. This could also impact agriculture, as crops rely on a period of dormancy during winter to rest and regenerate for the next growing season. Additionally, the absence of winter could contribute to a warmer overall climate, potentially exacerbating issues related to global warming.
In Nepal they've found that more earthquakes happen in the northern hemisphere's winter. A few articles say this is due to increased rain fall, but I think it has more to do with the northern hemisphere reaching full solar aphelion (cloest point of orbit) in early January. This closer proximity to the sun exerts a huge gravitational pull on earth, triggering earthquakes.
because the atmosphere is more stable. during the summer, the earth is heated unevenly (either the north or south hermispheres), with causes convection currents in the atmoshere-which causes our weather-and creates static in the form of lightning. in the winter, this is less likely to happen, therefore lightning in the winter is rare.
The season after summer and before winter is autumn, also known as fall. This season is characterized by cooler temperatures, colorful foliage, and harvest festivals.
Seasons happen because of the tilt of Earth's axis as it orbits the sun. This tilt causes different regions of the Earth to receive varying amounts of sunlight throughout the year, which leads to changes in temperature and weather patterns. The combination of the tilt of the Earth and its orbit around the sun results in the four distinct seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter.
