Well, first of all, absolute zero, the point at which there is no thermal energy is at -273 degrees Celsius, so nothing could ever get to -300 C. Also, the Mercury in the thermometer would freeze long before absolute zero, and it is unlikely that a standard thermometer would ever be used below its minimum measurement. If temperature measurement was needed below the minimum measurement of a thermometer, specialized scientific thermometers are available.

Ethanol-filled thermometers (alcohol thermometers) are a favourite among meteorologists and can be used down to -70 degrees centigrade due to alcohols very low freezing temperature. So this should be your best bet.

Zero degrees Celsius is equal to 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Go any higher than the 1.8 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees is added. Each down 1.8 degrees from 32 degrees Celsius which is low.

20 degrees Celsius is 68 degrees Fahrenheit. 45 degrees Celsius is 113 degrees Fahrenheit. So 25 degrees change Celsius = 25 x 1.8 = 45 degrees Fahrenheit. 1 degree change in Celsius is equivalent to 1.8 degrees change in Fahrenheit. At 20 degrees Celsius krypton is a gas. You would have to bring the temperature way down to just below -153.22 (yes, negative!) degrees Celsius for krypton to become a liquid, and just below -157.36 degrees Celsius to make it a solid!
it gets down to about 27 degrees Celsius
