∙ 11y agoClouds act like a blanket and hold the heat in. A clear night allows the radiation to escape to space resulting in a cooler night.
Typically, nighttime air temperatures on a cloudy night are higher than they would be on a clear night. This is because the surface of the earth radiates back heat toward the sky. If the sky is clear, much heat can be lost. However, if it is cloudy, it can keep some of that heat back in. Making the temperatures warmer.
If a highly corked glass bottle full of water is left out of doors on a frosty night it will burst because the water contained in the bottle will freeze on a frosty night and convert into ice. There is no room available for the increased volume and this may result in bursting of the bottle.
There are many factors to consider, but one of the biggest is time of day. Clear skies during the day allow the sun to heat the ground more than on a cloudy day, resulting in warmer temperatures. However, at night a clear sky allows more energy to radiate back into space making for colder temperatures. Clouds at night act like a blanket, keeping warm air in, while during the day they block the sun's rays, keeping it cooler. Larger scale weather patterns can have the opposite effect where an area of high pressure results in sinking air, clear skies, and colder temperatures. A passing warm front on the other hand can be marked by increasing clouds, rain, and warming temperatures.
Nothing on a clear night.

On a clear night. Clouds will prevent the heat that the earth has collected during the day because of the sun, to evaporate at night.
When sky is clear the heat from earth will radiate to space and cool the night air faster. If cloudy the heat radiated is reflected back from clouds and it does not get so cool
the difference there is that in a clear night night the temperature is cool y in a cloudy night it is somehow warm
Clouds are natures "blanket". Cloudy night: The heat is held close to earth's surface. Clear night: The heat radiates off into space.
On Earth on a clear night the temperature drops more than on a cloudy night why
On a clear night you can easily study the stars whereas on a cloudy night it is quite difficult.

The cloud cover acts like a blanket and traps any daylight warmth rising from the earth. A cloudless night sky allows all the warmth to escape into the atmosphere, resulting in a cold or frosty night.
Both water vapor and clouds are great greenhouse gasses, they block the loss of heat into outer space (at night).
During a clear night, as heat absorbed by the earth during the day seeps out, the atmosphere allows the heat to pass through. During a cloudy night, however, the clouds catch and retain the heat in the atmosphere.Clouds trap heat being reflected from the earthThe heat radiation lost from the earth gets reflected by the clouds back to the earth, warming it. Whereas on a clear night it just escapes into space.
Clouds act as a kind of blanket for our atmosphere, trapping in heat. A clear night does not retain as much heat, so tend to be colder.
