Energy is renewable if it comes from a renewable source. Wave power, capturing the movement of the tides and ocean waves is renewable, because using it today does not mean it stops tomorrow. There are many experimental stations around the world for wave energy, but no large and successful results yet.

What is a resource that cannot be used up?

These are called renewable sources, though they are not necessarily constant. You can include wind, solar, wave, tidal, hydro, and biomass.

Is a neap tide considered to be high or low?

A neap tide is considered to be a tide that is neither very high nor very low. It occurs when the sun and moon are at right angles to each other, causing less extreme tidal variations.

What are some renewable sources for electricity energy?

The main renewable sources of energy to generate electricity are:hydropower (use of water from rivers, dams, tides and ocean waves)wind energy (using wind turbines)solar power (using the power of the sun to heat water or produce electricity)geothermal (using the heat deep under the earth's crust)ocean Thermal (using surface heat and deep cold water)biofuel (producing ethanol from organic material like switch-grass, corn and sugar cane husks)See the Related Questions links for more information about each of these methods of producing energy.*Strictly speaking an energy source is not 'renewable' if you mean "can humanity restore it?", as it must with trees, for example.Geothermal, for example, is self-renewing - the Earth is constantly giving off its heat to water which is close enough to the heat to be warmed by it. It is not diminished to any noticeable extent by our using it. It is possible to use a geothermal resource to capacity locally. One example is in the geothermal area of Rotorua, New Zealand, where too many thermal bores resulted in the decline of the geysers that were a tourist attraction. This has since been addressed by controls on the bores in the area, and the geysers are performing as before.Heat or light from the sun, wind (turns turbines which produce electricity), and water (the power of the flow turns turbines which produce electricity).wind, tidal, geothermal and hydroelectricity

Is nuclear energy renewable or non-renewable?

Nuclear energy is nonrenewable, as it depends on limited supplies of the fissionable isotope Uranium-235. Uranium is dug out of the ground. Some day there will be none left. Fissionable fuels (and other elements that can be used in reactors to make them) are "stellar fossil fuels" made more than 6 billion years ago by exploding supernovas and when they run out like the chemical fossil fuels made millions of years ago will be all gone and will never replenish while the human species exists. The supplies of fissionable isotopes can be extended (but not renewed) by breeding more in reactors. It involves making plutonium from non-fissile uranium in breeder reactors: Uranium-233 from Thorium-232 and Plutonium-239 from Uranium-238. This will extend the amount of reactor fuels by roughly a factor of 100, but beyond that no more fissionable isotopes can be produced. When we run out we run out. Also, plutonium is a key ingredient for nuclear bombs. While this is a known way to produce a longer lived supply of nuclear energy, the dangers of making this fuel are such that the international community frowns strongly upon the use of breeder reactors because of their proliferation issues. Bernard Cohen argues that breeder reactors, using fuel dissolved in the oceans, can supply all of Earth's energy needs for billions of years, even after the sun explodes, which should categorize them as "renewable".Traditional nuclear fission power plants use only a tiny fraction of the uranium in the fuel rods before actinides build up, poisoning the reaction. However, the nuclear fuel rods can be reprocessed into new fuel rods. The actinide components each have various uses in industry and for medical purposes. In some types of reactors called "breeder reactors", casing of thorium or depleted uranium is built around the nuclear reactor, causing the thorium or depleted uranium to capture a neutron and become uranium or plutonium respectively. When reprocessed, the uranium or plutonium can be extracted and used to power additional reactors. The US does not use breeder reactors. France has some, but the majority of nuclear reactors in the world are not of this type. So in that sense we're back to non-renewable.If we someday make workable fusion reactors, we will have an effectively unlimited supply of nuclear energy, because there is far more hydrogen available to use as fuel than there is uranium and thorium. However this is still nonrenewable as the amount of hydrogen on earth will not increase significantly (tiny amounts arrive on meteorites).A good source for information about energy the International Energy Agency. They define renewable energy as being derived from natural processes that are replenished constantly. However both fission and fusion will be able to supply our energy needs for SO long it's crazy.

What is the definition of tidal energy?

Tidal energy is a form of renewable energy generated by harnessing the energy from the natural rise and fall of tides in the ocean. This energy is captured using methods like tidal turbines or barrages to produce electricity. Tidal energy is considered a predictable and reliable source of renewable energy.

What are the two renewable energy resources that make electricity?

For one there are more than two renewable energy sources. These are wind, hydro, solar, wave or tide and geothermal (some people say tide and hydro are the same because they both use water). Also if you want to be technical they do not make electricity they change kinetic, heat and light energy into electricity. There are others and it is a lot more complicated but this is the jist of it and should answer your question.

Can tidal energy can classified as a biotic resource?

No. Biotic means living (or recently living). Tidal energy can be classified as a renewable resource, however, because we can use it to generate power, and it renews itself at the next tide to generate more power.

Is solar energy the energy of tomorrow?

Yes, because all renewable energy in the world is in one way or another driven by solar energy. It is differnet from parts of the world wether one should focus on solar energy as the renewable energy source. For example, in Africa that can be useful, but in countries like Britain, it can be better with for example tide energy.

Hydroelectricity be renewed?

Yes it can it is just one of many renewable energy here are some: Solar Tide Hydro wind geothermal nuclear

What energy conversion take place in tidal energy?

Tidal energy is generated by converting the kinetic energy of moving water into electricity. As the tide comes in and out, the movement of the water causes turbines to spin, which then generates electricity. This energy conversion process harnesses the natural forces of the tides to generate clean and renewable electricity.
