Why is uniformitarianism not true?

erosion and destruction of the earth's geologic make up did not occur until the catastrophe known as the global flood (Noah's flood) occurred. Before that the earth existed in the perfect form that God had created it.

It always takes a while for any new philosophical, scientific or other idea to become accepted because it needs to stand the rigour of testing against the presented evidence, opposing ideas, repeatability, etc.
