it is to collect more water
Plants use gravity to help determine the direction in which to grow their roots and stems. This response is known as gravitropism - roots grow downward with gravity, while stems grow upward against gravity, a process mediated by plant hormones called auxins.
the plants roots sink into the rock and cracks the rock.
it is because Earth is the planet with LIFE. and god made plants grow, we also take care the plants so that they will live
The response of roots growing downward is an example of gravitropism, also known as geotropism. This is a plant's natural reaction to gravity where the roots grow towards the Earth to anchor the plant and absorb water and nutrients.
Plant roots have specialized cells called statoliths that can sense changes in the direction of gravity. When the direction of gravity changes, these cells direct the growth of the roots in a new direction to ensure that the roots continue to grow downward, towards the center of the Earth. This process is known as gravitropism.
The roots of plants predominantly grow downward, towards the soil.
The roots of a plant will always grow down. This is to help it find water. The stem grows upwards to find light.
Is gravitropism why the seed is growing towards gravity?Yes gravitropism is why the roots go towards the center of the Earth.
well i say because the roots go deep into earth.
The stimuli that plants respond to include light, water and gravity. Plants grow towards light (phototropism). Also in some plants the flowers will follow the sun as it moves across the sky. Plant roots grow towards water (hydrotropism). Plant roots grow towards gravity/towards the centre of the earth (geotropism). Source(s): I'm a Biology teacher. this is bullcrap it is fake
Phototropism - towards light. Think plants, flowers, leaves. They generally turn towards light.Geotropism - towards the earth. Go figure.Hydrotropism - towards water or towards moisture.
Roots of plants tend to grow away from sunlight because they exhibit negative phototropism. This ensures that they grow towards moisture and nutrients in the soil rather than towards the light which roots do not need for photosynthesis. Roots need to grow where they can efficiently absorb water and nutrients to support the plant's growth and development.
The roots are attracted to moisture in the soil
they give off roots spreading towards the erosion and smooth the erosion system
The roots of a plant hold it firmly in the ground.
i have always had a feer of roots ever synse i had been 3 years old becouse at scool we had a leson on plant anatamy and we had to re root plants but the second i saw the roots i screamed that seconed i imagined that i was being strangled by a root moster so ever synse when i see roots i cowwer in the sorner or runn away screaming
Gravitropism is responce to Earth's gravity. If you are talking about plants then a Positive gravitropism grows towards gravity (like roots of plant). A Negative gravitroism grows away from gravity (Like the stems of plants). Hope this help :P
