Best Answer

Sublimation stands for conversion of solid to gas without being convert to liquid state.

Bromine is already a liquid at room temperature and hence will not sublime.

Element in the halide family that is liquid?

Bromine is the only element acts as a liquid in the room temperature. The upper elements in the same group are gases. Iodine is a solid that can undergo sublimation in room temperature.

When an unstable Bromine nucleus undergoes alpha decay the nucleus formed is that of?

If a bromine atom underwent alpha decay, the result would be an arsenic atom with a mass number four lower than the original bromine atom. I did a little research on this, however, and it appears that there are no bromine isotopes that undergo alpha decay. I have provided a link to the interactive table of nuclides.

What is the difference between Bromine liquid and Bromine aqueous solution?

Bromine has only 2 stable isotopes(isotopes which do not undergo radioactive decay), whereas mercury has 7 stable isotopes. Mercury is a heavy weight metal, whereas bromine isn't exactly jusy as heavy. Mercury's atomic weight is200.59, which is heavier than bromines atomic weight of 79.904. Bromine has a strong bleachong action and smells of chlorine whileis obtained mainly from cinnabar, and is toxic to breath or ingest. While bromine does react quite fairly to most acids, mercury does not react with most of the acids known and tested. both of these metals belong to two entirely different groups. One similarity that these two fluid metals share is that they are liquid metals.

Give you an examples of sublimation in science?

The opposite of sublimation, where a solid changes to a gas is called deposition, NOT SUBLIMATION! Hope that clears it up :).

What is a change of a liquid to a gas called?

sublimation, it is also called sublimation if it is gas to a solid

Does steam undergo sublimation?

Steam doe not undergo sublimation.Sublimation is the direct transformation from a solid to a gas.Steam is the gaseous state of water, otherwise known as water vapor. It is already a gas, so it can not undergo a change to a gas.
