Ridge lines is a concept in Micro Economics related to Isoquants (which shows different combination of inputs for the same level of output). However, after a certain point Isoquant begins to slope upward, if there are 2 or more isoquants then there would be similar points on the other isoquants too... on joining these points, you get the ridge lines.
Note: the point from where Isoquant slopes upward is a point where the marginal product of one of the input is negative.

He discovered that the ocean floor moves like a conveyor belt, carrying the continents with them. This process begins at the mid-ocean ridge. Old oceanic crust go back to the mantle through trenches and molten material comes out of the mid-ocean ridge, making new crust. Harry Hess called this constant process sea-floor spreading.

They measure how far away the rock is from the mid-ocean ridge. The farther, the older.
East / west winds will cause sand to drift in a north/south ridge formation (the north/south lines on a map are longitudes, the east/west lines are latitudes).
it is very difficult to explain the spur terrrain feature without a map. Either way, in topographic maps, the color brown means terrrain and it's features. those lines will form mountains, depretions, hilltops, saddles and spurs. Basicly the spur will be the side of the hill forming a line with two sides until it reaches the flat terrrain. That line in the middle of the spur is the ridge.
