Generally, globalization implies increasing trade, lowering tariffs, higher technology, and increasing economic integration. All of these factors have been empirically linked to higher economic growth, so GDP will, in a normal sample, be higher than if globalization didn't exist.

However, just like many economic activities benefit society or many people, there are often 'losers' from economic changes. Globalization will negatively impact some groups of people and systems, but it will increase the GDP of all countries and their societies.
