When a country has a thriving tourist industry, there will be lower employment because, like any industry, it will need employees. These employees are most obvious in the service industries as waiters and waitresses, hotel employees, car rental agencies, theme park employees, and the like. The economy is also boosted and employment impacted by support industries. When there are more hotels, restaurants and theme parks, etc., they have needs. For instance, hotels need laundry service, restaurants need food, theme parks need printing and advertising products.
