Approximately 2.5 billion people, or about one-third of the global population, depend on subsistence farming for their livelihoods. This practice is particularly prevalent in developing countries, where families grow food primarily to feed themselves rather than for sale. Subsistence farming plays a critical role in food security, especially in rural areas, but it often faces challenges like climate change, land degradation, and limited access to resources.
Agriculture is characterised by a dualistic structure of market-oriented commercial farms and much small-scale subsistence farming.
farms cost alot in the UK they cost about £60,000 or if they are better they are for about £100,000.
Factory farms make the majority of our food. That is why it is so important to learn about factory farms and support alternatives for them.
A subsistence level of production is the bare minimum level of production that is needed. This concept can be applied to different situations. In the context of agriculture or farming, subsistence farming is the farmer produces enough food to feed the family and no more. Subsistence farming implies that the farmer and the farmer's family consumes as much as is produces and there is no surplus production. Subsistence farming continues to exist in parts of Latin America and Asia where there are still large quantities of peasants and villages. This concept can also be loosely applied to the means of production where subsistence level of production is producing enough to keep producing for the next cycle of production in which production is producing no profits but the firm is also not losing money.

There is a store called World Market that sells seapoint farms edamame for $2 a bag.
subsistence farming by definition is farming of only enough to sustain farmer and family with no surplus leftover for sale. Therefore the profit would be zero since the crops are not intended for sale, but rather subsistence.
Farms provide us with food and animals that we eat. Also, without farms, there would be no ethanol, cheese, milk, or practically any meat product. Also, corn syrup and the many soybean products would not be possible. There would be no sugar if there were no farms. Without farms the world would be a much different place, in a very bad way.

The difference is that India practices intense subsistence agriculture, meaning they grow a lot of food to feed themselves, and the USA performs commercial agriculture, meaning we grow most of our food for profit. India doesn't use as much technology as we do and they have "family farms" (farms run by families or villages). The USA uses agribusiness, meaning all parts of agriculture are used to make a business, and the USA doesn't have family farms. The USA has factory farms, which is an artificial farm nothing like Old MacDonlads. Factory farms work like factories because of all the technology that is used. Hope this helps.
