Because the USA doesn/t want Another Country with no established ideas of Democracy for it and its neighbors to be able to tell us what we should pay for a commodity that we need to produce what we need to produce in this world and be a leading Democracy throughtout the free world. Having said this, the USA has adopted a policy of being able to manipulate the price by slowing down or speeding up the consumption of oil within our own borders. Being as we are the largest consumers of petroleum in the world, and we produce more goods then any other country, we are ina unique position to effect the world price. In an effort to further reduce the dependancy of the USA on foreign oil, we are producing more domestic oil and also utilizing Nautral Gas and new coal technology to satisfy our energy needs. What worries me is the fact that domestic producers will find the best price for our oil will be on the world market, and there it will surely go.
