definitely yes,or else without an army how could a person defeat the great dhana nanda whom even alexander feared and ended his conquests,nanda army was 10 - 15 times bigger than alxander with just 36 elephants hannibal gave so much trouble to romans think about an nanda army with 6000 elephants,so it was all because of chanakya's mind power it was possible, when chandra gupta maurya defeated selecus nicator instead of killing him chanakya advised him to be friendly with him and gave him 500 elephants and sought nicator's daughter helena in marriage with sandracottous(this is what greeks called chandragupta maurya) and maintained a friendly relation with greeks now indians and greeks became relatives and all the allies of nicator would help mauryas if in need.and another instance about chanakya once chanakya and the mauryan army came in search of enemies but they were hiding in a cave there were many caves in the region so the army could not locate the cave after some time chanakya saw some ants carrying rice grains and observed it to be cooked so they followed the ants and caught the enemies and defeated them,such a great observer was chanakya.his book artha shaastra was the world's first book on economy and politics.it described how an empire should run.and he says that an emperor must be a ruthless ruler when it comes to administration and must never spare a enemy or a betrayed person and says "as debt must be payed off to the last penny and enemy bust be destroyed till the last" and "it is wise to forgive a betrayed person but foolish to trust him again".and additional to these he was also a self respecting person here goes an incident "chanakaya adds some poison in chandragupta maurya's food daily in order to keep him immune as he started it from a little amount till the sufficient stage chandragupta maurya was not affected but by mistake he shared his food with his preganant wife to save the child chanakya did a surgery and saved the child but the mother died later when bimbisara came to know it was chanakya who killed his mother he punished him chanakya unable to bear the shame stopped water and food but later bimbisara came to know chanakya did it with a good intention and sought his forgiveness but he still did not stop his fast and died due to no intake of food and water.
