Oh yes. We're all doomed. Looking on the bright side, rich people will stay rich - the difference will be that they will be so much richer relative to the rest of us.

The only solution is for the people of this planet to reduce procreation - there are too many people for the resources of the world to sustain.

Being an atheist, I believe that nature will, eventually, sort out the problem by reducing the population of humans. We have been sort of giving her a helping hand for decades by polluting our environment. Unfortunately, as a by-product of our technological advancement, we have also made sure that wealthy countries, and even many of the poorer countries, have extended the life expectancy and reduced infant mortality rates of humans.

If you could look into the future a few hundred years beyond the survival of the human race, you'd find little evidence of human existence. A few thousand years from then and the earth will be the well-balanced ecological paradise it was before humans appeared and messed it up - probably the first nail in the coffin was the invention of the wheel.

So the economy doesn't really matter.
