What is the relation between poverty and terrorism?

Poverty is clearly a huge problem for the planet. However, I don't think that we know yet if poverty directly causes terrorism. Few terrorists seem to be poor; on the contrary, terrorists themselves seem to be well-educated and middle class. Indeed, to quote Susan Rice, "if poverty spawns terrorism, there should be a lot more terrorism in the world." In fact, for the first time in a very long time, not only is the percentage of poor people in the total world population falling, the sheer number of poor people is actually falling, thanks to the best ever policy performance on average by developing countries. But terrorist attacks don't seem to be declining.

How did poverty begin?

poverty is itself comparitive. All the animals/humans in a group living in a desert could be uniformly considered poor. but lets address here only relative poverty between individuals in a human group/settlement. Also poverty would be taken to mean material poverty, not those disadvantaged from accessing natural resources due to their position in the tribe heirarchy. Then, I think poverty started when private property started. When individuals began claiming their rights over certain things more than they could use then they are considered rich, due to the presence of such 'spare' resources. And those who are cut off from accessing those spare resources of the rich are considered poor. Legal rights Spare resources are guaranteed by the State. Hence poverty started with the constitution of a State

Are there people who are for the concept of poverty?

I think that anyone not willing to assist in the abolition of poverty are "for poverty". There are many people who canhelp and choose not to. It's the basic principle that if you're not part of the solution you are in fact part of the problem. The world's wealthiest 25 people have a net worth of $481 billion... There are roughly 6.6 billion people in the world. You tell me. Are there people who are not helping?

Do you think that poverty is a cause or a result of prejudice and discrimination?

Poverty is a multi-level problem that is both a cause and result of discrimination. Poverty often causes the upper class to discriminate against those in poverty because of the higher class' ignorance or prejudice. Conversely, the result of the discrimination often leaves individuals in poverty because they may be passed over for jobs, are unable to obtain quality healthcare or they are not given the same educational opportunities.
