Well, if it just says 1909 without a S, D, or VDB on it, then its probably around 5-20 cents. The reason for that is because there was 72.7 million pennies that was minted in 1909 (without S, D, or VDB mark) and pennies that are worth alot have around 0 to 2 million pennies minted in that year.

Hi, HF is the Makers Name and they are worth something they are not the same quality as silver
The US never made silver pennies - they would have been worth more than dimes! All 1909 cents were made of bronze; your coin is almost certainly plated for use in jewelry or something similar. The bad news is that the plating destroyed any value the coin may have had to a collector. Depending on design and mint mark, the plating may have done anywhere from a couple of bucks to several thousand dollars worth of damage, sad to say.
No you stupid person!
Value depends on a number of factors such as the date, mint mark, and condition. All U.S. silver dollars minted in 1935 or earlier are currently worth at least $26 for the silver content.
