Some of the consequences of poverty are malnutrition, teenage pregnancy abuse in the home, children are not given proper education children joining gangs to belong to somewhere, the selling of drugs to facilitate the things that are not provided in the home. Girls may also turn to prostitution to provide for themselves. Poverty can also lead to low self esteem as people who are poor are treated differently from the people who are well off.
